HUMAHUACA

La Quebrada de Humahuaca… This region is known for its splendid countryside and the many cities that still harbor pre-Columbian and colonial remains. The tourist success of this town is due to Hornocal, this incredible mountain with 14 colors located a few kilometers from Humahuaca.

PURMAMARCA AND THE HILL OF 7 COLORS

70 kilometers south of the city of Humahuaca, you can admire a geological spectacle the Cerro de los Siete Colores, which borders the town of Purmamarca. About 75,000,000 years ago, the hill was formed thanks to a complex geological process that resulted from the sedimentation of rivers, marine and lakes. Choline is so named because of the various pigments acquired by the minerals that make up the sedimentary layers. It is said that you can see seven colors on the hill, but most people only see three or four colors. In the morning the colors are better admired, and if you go on the road, observe them just before entering the town.
