The best of the estancia is the outstanding team of people that collaborate every day to make your experience absolutely outstanding.

Leo and Ornella in the Kitchen and Maxi “the Gaucho” who organizes the horseback ridings or Cabalgatas. My wife and I went with our two young Children ages 11 and 8 and they were patient, accommodating and caring. They organized great cooking classes in very short order and our youngest son developed a love for horses that I am sure he will carry for life.

I cannot thank you enough.

The hotel facilities strike the right balance without being over the top, which we did find truly charming indeed.

Mr ZUGMAN - 17/08/2017

Outstanding. Everything about this place is superb.
The estancia is charming, the attention is excellent.
Not luxurious but with a lot of taste and super comfortable.
The restaurant is excellent.
I highly recommend it. It is a much better option than staying in Salta city, if you have your own car. It is a 15 minute drive from downtown.

My boyfriend and I have been to 24 countries in the past 10 months…but El Colibri is the one place we agree is our favorite place. We don’t like to repeat places (so much to see in the world!) but we are already thinking about coming back next year…and the year after that…and the year after that.
We celebrated my 32nd birthday here and they upgraded us to the El Colibri suite, which was unexpected but much appreciated. The suite is absolutely beautiful. The whole property is stunning.
And as a horse lover, I also can’t emphasize enough how wonderful it is to see such well taken care of animals. I’m hesitant to do trail rides because I have seen some horrible things around the world…but these horses are healthy and happy and very very very well taken care of.
Oh and the food…the food! SO DELICIOUS!
I could go on and on and on about this place but it is something you must experience for yourself. I’m tempted to go back again before we leave South America…that is how extraordinary it is!

Mrs Joelle 10/07/18

Spent two weeks around South America on our honeymoon with the highlight being our stay at El Colibri. They picked us up bright and early from the Cordoba bus station after taking and overnight bus from Mendoza. We were immediately welcomed with a delicious breakfast and hot coffee. We spent our first day feeding the animals, exploring the garden, taking a cooking class and horseback riding. Stayed one night but paid a half day rate to stay until the next evening. The most relaxing, delicious, and breathtaking two days of our honeymoon.

When you drive through the gate and down the drive, you enter a different world. We loved this hotel.
It’s in a beautiful old building which has been brilliantly modernised with very tasteful furniture and decor. The terrace is wonderful for an evening drink and lying by the pool looking at the mountains is just heavenly.
The bedrooms are simple and very tastefully done.
Breakfast and dinner are both extremely good.
We stayed there for 2 nights and liked it so much we’re going back for another night.

This part of the country is well known for large, old, colonial estancias. The House of Jasmines is one such surviving ranch, with the main house, as well as some of the exccessory building sconverted into a boutique hotel. There are a handful of rooms and a few suites, all nicely appointed, with comfortable beds, up to date bathrooms, and a first class restaurant and bar. There is good quality air conditioning, wi-fi, good internet connection, and quiet but efficient service. We had very nice meals at the restaurant and the wine list is quite attractive. The breakfast bueest is generous and varied, especially considering that the hotel caters to a small number of guests at any particular time.

Mrs Gabriel - 23/03/2018

We visited in off season but I can’t help but think that even in high season this hotel is like staying at a relaxing estate in the countryside. Which is exactly what it used to be. Converted into a quaint hotel, it has relais chateau standing. And everything historical has remained while they have assured all the modern conveniences. The estate is huge and they offer bikes and horses to explore more. But maybe just a walk around the property is enough to drop the blood pressure. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and our kids were entertained enough with the lack of things to do. WE all recharged batteries and lived in luxury for a couple of days. Would love to get back here some day. Great food, we took all of our meals here and were never disappointed.

Mrs Laurel 05/06/2018

A well known Relais Chateau establishment outside of Salta. The room we had was small but comfortable. The breakfast was good as was a BBQ lunch. But the dinner choices were disappointing. Wine choices were good.

This place oozes bliss: awakening to birdsong, watching horses grazing, flowering vines/trees and fresh flowers everywhere, classic English music (80’s to current) and a sprawling layout that allowed for several intimate indoor/outdoor seating areas where you could find your own private space. A special touch was the large framed black and white photographs throughout that depicted the people and places of rural Argentina. All coffee was cappuccino/latte style – a welcome respite from the usual. Restaurant food was excellent with a special nod to the quinoa appetizer. Wifi excellent. Warm, attentive staff. And we just had a standard room. Reserve your spa treatment early as they were heavily booked.

Mr P. - 05/03/2017 - TripAdvisor

That’s a fantastic place, owned by a fantastic family.

Mr Piero - 02/02/2017

Bucolic setting – listening to birds & watching horses grazing.  Several private seating areas so that you can always find your own private space.

Mr Rick - 23/02/2017

We recently stayed at the House of Jasmines near Salta for two nights. The hotel feels more like staying in a large country home which it once was (Robert Duvall’s!). The decor is simple, beautiful and it perfectly reflects the culture of the area. Food wonderful, especially the BBQ night which features a huge array of delicious meats and other local delicacies.

Mrs HENERSON Danny - 27/04/2015

Went to Salta on February 2015 and stayed there. I must say its a unique countryside hotel. My room was 200yrds away from the main building in a separate house where they have set up 3 rooms. Everything is top notch, starting with the employees attention, food, rooms, views from the room, etc. it’s half an hour away from Salta city which isn’t that bad. Great pool for summer and winter, what else can I say, all in all a perfect experience.

Mr MYERS Davis - 06/07/2015

Actually reviewing the restaurant, where we stopped for lunch, and not the hotel… Our lunch was very good, with well prepared and tasty comfort food with a twist, in a nice setting and attentive service. Wine list not up up the level of the hotel and restaurant, though.

Mrs ROSS Camille - 21/09/2015

Outstanding bucolic setting with views of the mountains, horses and delightful accommodations. Excellent, very helpful staff helped make the great setting even better. Strongly recommend staying here when in Salta

Mr DIAZ James - 23/07/2016

We spent 2 night at the House. Had an amazing experience, very kids friendly. It was Christmas eve and we had a great time. the food is unbelievable! The service is really good., They are in all the details for you to have a great time. the rooms are really nice.

Mr GRIFFIN Carlo - 04/01/2016

This is one of the most charming places I’ve ever been.. Set in the foothills of the mountains surrounding Salta – just a few km from the town – this is an absolute idyll of beautiful buildings, top notch spa, outstanding service and quality of food. We first visited just for the spa (which was sublime – and surprisingly cheap) and came back just to have lunch on our last day. Both times we had the place almost to ourselves, and were welcome to sample all the amenities including the outdoor pool. Not enough superlatives could describe our experience!!

Mrs TURNER Brigitte - 30/01/2016

House of Jasmines is more than an hotel. The main building has been restored with taste and beauty – respecting the spirit of the original estancia. Few miles away from Salta, it is nested in a huge property which offers a breathtaking view on the mountains. Don’t hesitate to go for horse riding – it’s worth it.

Mr CAMPBELL Brayan - 02/08/2016

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at this estancia and it was a very different experience. Our room was very clean and cosy. The staff were extremely helpful and even packed us an early morning picnic breakfast. Our days were very full and so we were unable to utilize the many facilities offered at this wonderful retreat and that is the only reason I am giving this 4 stars. Diana and the staff were extremely attentive throughout our stay and they made us feel very special.

Mrs PEREZ Arielle - 10/08/2016
